Participants will envision an improved user experience. They will address current pain points. They will design solutions that align with strategic goals. They will align as a team around a future vision.
A mapped 'To-Be' scenario. A designed future state. A shared vision for change.
This exercise should be aspirational, yet grounded in reality. Use real user needs from research. Show how the experience improves with each pain point. Be specific enough to prototype. This becomes your guiding vision. It's easy to get caught up in the 'art of the possible' here, so don't forget to ground the team.

  1. Review Context (10 min): Review the 'As-Is' Scenario Map. Review strategic goals. Identify key pain points to address.

  2. Map Future Steps (40 min): Define what the user will do. Define what the user will think. Define what the user will feel. Explain how this future state is better than the current state.

  3. Show Solutions (20 min): Identify enabling technologies or services needed. Explain how the solution supports each step. Explain what makes this solution unique.

  4. Validate Against Goals (20 min): Confirm this future state achieves strategic goals. Identify risks. Determine what needs to be prototyped first.
