Participants will explain envisioned experiences, make abstract concepts concrete, enable empathy, guide design, communicate vision, test concepts, and inspire solutions.
Participants will create user scenarios that provide context-rich use cases and a foundation for design.
Base scenarios on user research. Include emotional and contextual details. Keep scenarios specific and focus on user value. Include both successful and problematic scenarios. Test scenarios with real users. Use scenarios actively in the design process. Update scenarios with new insights. I've found that even seemingly 'failed' scenarios can highlight crucial pain points.

  1. Define the scenario's scope and context. Consider user personas, service aspects, and desired outcomes.

  2. Create a scenario structure: setting, user goals, interaction sequence, service touchpoints, and results.

  3. Write detailed scenarios. Include user thoughts, emotions, context, actions, and service responses.

  4. Review scenarios for realism, value demonstration, and design implications.

  5. Use scenarios to evaluate concepts, guide design, and communicate the service vision.

  6. Update scenarios as the service evolves. Don't be afraid to revisit and revise based on new insights.
