Impromptu Networking
Start with paired conversations to quickly share challenges and expectations. This exercise builds connections and surfaces diverse viewpoints right from the start.
- Make quick connections.
- Share challenges and hopes honestly.
- Build psychological safety.
- Understand diverse perspectives.
- Impromptu networking completed.
- New connections established.
- Network expanded.
Why three rounds? The first round helps people get comfortable. The second allows for deeper conversation. The third helps with pattern recognition.
For virtual settings, use breakout rooms (two people each). Reassign participants manually for each round. Post questions in the chat.
This works well at the beginning of workshops, for team formation, or at the start of a project. The focus on challenges and contributions creates authentic connection quickly. Expect to see energy increase, and people talking.
