Objectives

Learn to spot and test your riskiest assumptions early. Design lean experiments for fast feedback. Reduce project risk by validating key beliefs. Make informed decisions about where to take your concept.

Outcomes

You'll leave with: a completed assumption test, validated beliefs, and a clearer path forward based on evidence.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. List all your key assumptions about users, the market, and your solution. (20 min)

  2. Prioritize these assumptions by how risky and important they are. (15 min)

  3. Design simple tests for the top three assumptions. (30 min)

  4. Plan your testing timeline and define what success looks like. (15 min)

  5. Share your testing plan with everyone involved. (10 min)

Facilitator Tips

Zero in on assumptions that, if wrong, would sink the project. Design tests that are faster and cheaper than building the whole thing. Actively look for evidence that disproves your assumptions, not just confirms them. Be clear about what evidence would make you change course.
